August Update

Dear RHM Friends,
Greetings in the Precious Name of our Lord JESUS.

Thanks so much to all who pray for the various ministries connected with RHM: HOPE girls and boys homes, HOPE widows ministry, children's ministry and school. Then there's the other ministry in India, about which we don't give names: a girls home, prisoners families, widows. And the widows/elderly ministry in 2 different areas of this state of Andhra Pradesh, covering many villages, and currently assisting over 170 people. Apart from this, there are other miscellaneous needs and ministries which the Lord would lead us to be a part of here and there. Remember, all of us are close to zero by ourselves (and we are zero apart from His grace), but put together those who pray along with those who donate, and those involved on the admin side, and those who are doing the hands-on ministry, along with the children and widows themselves, who also do their part in various ways...it all makes up a TEAM called the Body of Christ, working together for His glory alone.

We praise GOD that another one of the 7 prisoners who were falsely accused and imprisoned over 10 years ago for the murder of a Hindu leader has been released. He still has some court dealings at the state level, but since the national Supreme Court has ordered his release, it is unlikely he would ever need to go back into the prison. This makes 2 of the 7 who have now been released, with the other 5 having their hearings before the Supreme Court today. Already they've had their hearing date postponed once, and there's the issue of the lawyers wanting their money. This has been somewhat of a mystery case, as we still aren't sure how the other 2 men's cases were paid for. There seems to be some secret support coming for these men, perhaps the donors not wanting their names connected with these cases. Please continue to pray for these men.

Pray for the girls home which we're a part of, which has 11 girls (not HOPE, which has 38 children at this time). Their area of India has been hit hard with rain for a month or more. Roads are washed out, communication is down, the rent house where the girls are staying is leaking much water through the concrete slab roof and walls, and their septic tank is full, with no chance at this time to do anything about it. The brother overseeing the girls home said they are suffering much. They actually have a new home, but because of some water problems have not been able to move there. I was hoping to get some info about the cost needed before putting out this update, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. They may not be able to communicate at this time. Please pray for them.

Another reminder to check out RHM's YouTube channel, and the BLOG on the website.
May the Lord lead MANY to use these tools in order to stay informed about the ministry here in India, and to pray.

Thank you for your prayers and support! Bless you.

Brother Dan
ABOVE: The brother who was recently released by a India Supreme Court order (late July), along with his wife and 4 of his 6 children. What a joy they have had, having their father/husband with them after more than 10 long years!
ABOVE: HOPE girls in the foreground leading songs in a recent Sunday School in the tribal village of Devuni Manyam. Iswarya (13, left) is a very good leader, Veni and Viswa singing with her.
ABOVE: Sweet HOPE girls enjoying some time on lunch break before going back to school.
ABOVE:  Happy to provide (Christ working through us, the donors included) a new wheelchair for Sugunamma in the village of Bangarakkapalem. Not sure if I've ever seen a smile on her face, but still praying and hoping that this widows/elderly ministry will lift them all up to higher spiritual ground.
ABOVE: This is Kondamma in the village of Anneboinapalli (Brother Wesley in the background). She fell and fractured her leg recently, so hoping this wheelchair will only be a temporary need in her life.
ABOVE: Brother Bhaskara Rao teaching a song & dance to children in Chinthayapalem. Once a month this ministry (called El Bethel) gathers all their Sunday School children from 5 or 6 villages to have a special meeting. RHM is helping Bhaskara Rao to do his children's ministry in this area.
ABOVE: Brother Peter, his wife Kushma and their 2 children. This couple is now overseeing the HOPE boys home in Chinthayapalem on the same property where I also stay most of the time. Pray for them, for their family, and that the Lord would use them to lead the boys into a real relationship with Christ.
ABOVE: A new hut was built for Narsamma in the village of KB Palem. This is her husband sitting on the ground. They both are obviously very poor. We have a big sponsor (World Challenge) who helps with most of the widows/elderly ministry. They sponsor most of those who are widows, while the funds which come into RHM designated for widows & elderly is helping some widows, but mostly elderly couples, elderly who were abandoned or never married, and a few handicapped people.
ABOVE: Subba Rao, a widower in KB Palem, in front of his new hut. The tarps proved to be inefficient in stopping all the rain from getting inside, so we've since changed all the hut roofs from one tarp to 2.
ABOVE: HOPE 9th graders Suvarna (left) and Sudha Rani (right) singing on Sravani's 11 birthday in July, Sravani in the middle. She's now in the 6th grade.
ABOVE: HOPE's precious Angel (soon to be 16 in September) with Brother Prasanth's sister's baby. Bro. Prasanth, along with Brother Wesley, are helping with the widows & elderly ministry.
ABOVE: You might recognize this woman and the girl in the first photo above. Here, they are receiving some extra support (before the husband/father was released), as they were having many medical and educational needs at this time back in June.
ABOVE: Some of the girls in the girls home we are a part of in another more volatile area of India. The sister in the middle, along with her husband, are caring for these girls (8 of 11 in this photo). Here they're showing us the first watermelon from their garden.
ABOVE: Praying during a meeting in the village of Yerra Reddy Palem, one of the villages we go to for the widows & elderly ministry. Brother Jeremiah, right, is the pastor in this church.
ABOVE: Sujanamma in the village of Alluru in front of her new hut which was built in February.
ABOVE: Beautiful little sisters in HOPE, Charity (taller, 9) with her 7 year old sister Nithya. They both were named after Hindu gods, which are still their legal names, but we named them Charity (love in action) and Nithya (eternal).
