Help for a Broken Family and Pastors

A huge crowd awaited the body of Babu Rao, father of 2 HOPE School girls (one previous and one current). His wife's mother is holding her, her father and Babu Rao's sister you can also plainly see crying on the left.

Dear RHM Friends,

About the pastors, this is the same group of pastors we've mentioned to you several times, men who lost their sponsor's support at the beginning of 2019. Each time we go to their area of India, I'm making an appeal so we can have something to give to them. The last 2 or 3 times someone's gone there to distribute funds to the widows, prisoners' families (now freed men), etc., the Lord has touched some of your hearts so that we have a good amount for these pastors also. Now there are 10 pastors. Brother Wesley and I are leaving for that area this Saturday (I forgot to mention this in this month's update), so if any of you give in their behalf, please alert me with an email so that we can be sure to add your donation amount to what is given to them.

About the "Help for a Broken Family", the father of 2 HOPE School girls, Preethi (now in the 8th grade and in a different school) and Pinky (in the 6th grade at the HOPE School) died a couple of weeks ago in a motorcycle accident. In the midst of the brokenness over his death, we have learned that Babu Rao (the father) had taken many loans. Already this was a poor family when Babu Rao had another accident less than 2 years ago which did much damage to his arm. He's a painter, but from that time had struggled to provide properly for his family. The loans kept snow-balling to the point that he owed over $4,000 in at least 6 different loans when he died, a huge amount of money for this poor mother to deal with (most of the relatives also poor or not giving much help).

Thankfully, RHM had some extra funds remaining from our 2019 Christmas Project. The Lord had already put it in our heart to use these extra funds to help the needy in some way. After having that direction, Babu Rao's death occurred (his wife on the back of his motorcycle and falling in the middle of the road, but suffering only minor injuries). Today we were able to use these Christmas funds to pay off about $1,300 of this debt, Sister Buelah, Brothers Prasanth and Raju all having a part in sharing the love and comfort of Christ to this broken family since his death.

Still there's at least another $2,800 to pay off, which is near to impossible for them to pay without again getting into debt. The government is likely to give some kind of benefit to this mother, but we don't know when or how much. We're hearing that the government may give a little more than $700, but again, that's not a sure thing. As you pray and think about this, if the Lord moves on your heart to help them during this critical time, please do so. They have been extremely thankful to all those connected with RHM and HOPE who have helped them already, especially the donors. HOPE has committed to giving full educational support to Pinky while in the HOPE School, and RHM has committed to do the same (as long as He provides) for Preethi, and for Pinky after she leaves the HOPE School for the 8th grade.

Thanks always for your love, prayers and support!

Dan, RHM
