Lending to the Lord
June 4 RHM
Update

Dear RHM Friends,

Greetings in the Name of our Precious Lord JESUS.

We were hopeful that a large ministry would give us another grant for doing Corona Relief work among the poor here, but that grant was not given. So unless the Lord gives us more funds via other donations, the opportunity to help the poor during this Corona lockdown time has come to an end. But we are so thankful for the great blessing of being able to be the Lord's Hand extended to many needy people up until this time. His will be done. If you desire to help us in this endeavor, please be sure to designate your gift toward the Corona Relief work. HOPE also is doing relief work (HOPE's relief work, and RHM's relief work being separate), so if you want to help HOPE to do more relief work, please designate your gift as such.

"He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will pay back what he has given." Proverbs 19:17. Though tempted to fear at times, I believe these Words with all my heart, so we often are giving by faith in this and many other Promises from GOD's Word. What is faith? "...the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1). If we give only when we SEE a big surplus of funds in the bank, then we will miss the opportunities to bless many hurting people, and will miss seeing our Father show Himself strong and faithful to His Words. "There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more. And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered." (Proverbs 11:24-25). How do we receive such Words from GOD? Only by faith.

Please pray with us, that our faithful Lord will grant us more donors, including those who are able to give large donations, so that we can reach out to more hurting people here in India. Besides ministering to the poor tribal people, there are many other various needs among the people here. Some examples:
* We visited a pastor recently. His brother died a couple of years ago; the wife then remarried. The stepfather didn't want her child, so her small boy (about 7 or 8 years) is now with this pastor. A year or more back, the pastor's father had a paraysis stroke. About 2 or 3 weeks ago his mother also had a stroke, and is helpless on the bed. Both his parents are now with him. Already he is a poor pastor, getting very little offerings from his village church. Now with Corona, he's getting almost no offerings. His wife sometimes works in the fields.
* One sister in Brother Prasanth's church had breast cancer, one breast being removed. Now she's having much pain in the other, but they have little money to get it checked. Her husband has been in 2 motorcycle accidents within the last year, and isn't able to work much.
* This need is mostly taken care of, but an example of many similar needs which exist among the poor here: in late January a man died in a motorcycle accident, leaving his wife and 2 girls in poverty with 11 loans to pay. The Lord used us, and is continuing to use us to help that family. Without the Body of Christ reaching out to them, where would they be?
* We're currently helping a teenage orphan girl with her education (she's still living with her Aunty and Grandmother). Another 12 year old pastor's daughter has severe diabetes (3 insulin shots a day); we're helping this child with monthly medicine, a little over $100 a month. My heart cries to the Lord for the "abundance" which He promises in His Word, not to pay my salary or provide me with some comforts in this world, but to meet the needs of multitudes of hurting people like these.

The list goes on and on of critical needs which are in people's lives, needs which RHM is often not able to do anything about. Obviously, not everyone in America is able or called to help the poor in India. But we are so thankful to those who hear that call! Remember, when you give, please specify your giving. If you give to RHM General (or write a check to RHM with nothing in the memo), then those funds can be used at our discretion and according to the Spirit's leadership. If you want your gift to go specifically for the widows & elderly ministry, or to the HOPE ministry, to for pastors, or for any other particular need which you read about, then you must designate it specifically where you want it to go.

Scroll down to see photos & captions of what's happening during these lockdown days, and ask the Lord how He might have you to be a part of His great love in meeting some of these needs. Thank you always for your love, prayers and support! Bless you.

ABOVE: Rani getting clothes ready for distributing in the village of Adavi. Of all the villages we've been acquainted with, this is certainly one of the poorest. So thankful for many clothes contributors!
ABOVE: Brother Hanock praying in Adavi before starting a meeting: prayer, teaching a song to the children, sharing the Gospel, praying again, and lastly, the clothes distribution.
ABOVE: Rani teaching a song to the Adavi children. She shared the meaning of the song, which was also planting seeds among the adults who were listening. Most are Hindus there.
ABOVE: Amrutha giving snacks to Adavi children in a previous food distribution in this village. Amrutha and Rani are sisters, very helpful in the ministry that RHM is doing when teaming up with Brother Hanock in various villages.
ABOVE: This little guy is Isaac, one of the villagers in this roadside colony within Karlapalem. We asked you in our last update to pray about helping with building these huts ($1,000). Half was given by a donor, and by faith we're moving ahead with this project. By today all 7 huts should be finished.
ABOVE: Small and simple huts (the leaf walls yet to be constructed), but compared to what they were living in, these 29 or so people will be very happy. The Lord has made a really good connection with these people by Brother Prasanth's nearby church (part of he and his father's El Bethel ministry).
ABOVE: Sister Buelah had a birthday on June 1st. Most of the children are with their relatives during this Corona lockdown (govt. rules), but some came to celebrate her birthday with her.
ABOVE: The rainy season may begin soon, so we're trying to finish huts for several in the widows & elderly ministry who are in need of a new hut or repair. The 7 huts in the above photos are not part of the elderly ministry. There's about 15 or less new huts or repairs to do for the elderly this season. About half or more are already finished. This hut is for Yesumma, replacing her previous one which collapsed.
ABOVE: If you remember the last update, one photo showed the pathetic hut that Mangamma and her husband were living in, most of the material torn apart by recent winds. This is a new hut for them, the photo taken while it was being built. It's now completed.
ABOVE: This is a pastors' food distribution done recently inside a church. In the first distribution in April, there were 24 pastors' families assisted. In the 2nd distribution, there were 34 families. Brother Raju (in the blue) is checking off their names as they receive their food.
ABOVE: Brother Wesley praying for the people in a tribal village called Anandapuram, where he does weekly ministry. 44 families were given food in this distribution done recently.
ABOVE: Obviously not in good health, this is Ratna Kumari when receiving some food and provisions through Brother Wesley in Singarayakonda.
ABOVE: A family in a tribal village near Karlapalem (not far from where I and the HOPE boys stay). The man and at least 2 of the children just recently had come from a "red zone" area, meaning an area where there were Corona cases, so they are still under "quarantine" in their village. 16 families (54 people) came just 2 or 3 weeks back, so now all the village is under quarantine for some time.
ABOVE: This young man and his wife had also just returned from quarantine in another area when this photo was taken. Now they and 6 other families are under "house quarantine" in their ST ("scheduled tribe", among the lowest in India's sad caste system) village near Ganapavaram.
ABOVE: Rani and another little girl are teaching an action song to the children in Madala Narayana. We had just completed a food distribution via Brother Hanock's Mephibosheth Ministries. Whatever help we're able to give to the people (whether through RHM or MM), we've started implementing more ministry into the visits as well: sharing the Gospel, doing children's ministry, praying for the people.
ABOVE: Brother Peter and his wife, Kushma, oversee the HOPE boys ministry. Here, Peter is saying some "greetings" (usually good things) about Naveen on his 13th birthday in May.
"Whatever you do, do all things to the glory of GOD." 1 Corinthians 10:31
