He's Promised Continual Guidance
September 6, 2020 Update

Dear RHM Friends,

Greetings in the Name of our Precious Lord JESUS.

"If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday. The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones. You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." Isaiah 58:10-11. Wow, that's just one beautiful promise after another! But WHO does it apply to? Please take time to read the entire chapter when you have opportunity, but the Lord's giving these great promises to those who have His love in their hearts for those who are broken and needy. Are these promises only valid when there's no viruses running rampant throughout the earth? Are they only valid during times of a strong economy? I don't see any disclaimers attached to these Scriptures, so we'll continue to cling to them. PTL!

There's some changes in the making concerning our relationship with HOPE, so be on the watch for another special email within the next few days. I'll try to get that to you as soon as possible.

As you scroll down the page and see the photos and captions, please take time to pray for the various needs & ministry that's going toward these people. I often feel like all that we do is only like a drop in the ocean of human brokenness, or a grain of sand compared to the vast need that exists around the world. But we should never be discouraged in that way. The one who sees every sparrow that falls (Matthew 10:29) is never too busy to care about the needs or burdens of every single individual. So whether it be to many or to few, a big or small thing in the eyes of man, may the Lord find us faithful to reach out to "the least of these", whether it be with our time, money, efforts, words, or however He would want to use us.

Thank you always for your love, prayers and support! Bless you.

Brother Dan

"So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."  Galatians 6:10

Above: Four generations of poverty. The great grandmother is at right, one of her daughters the 3rd from right. One of her granddaughters is on the left, mentally impaired, but very helpful with all the household duties, especially in caring for the needs of the great grandmother. The little girl is Prem Kumari, soon to be 7 years old. Her father left the family after a quarrel when this girl was about 2. Her mother then committed suicide. The father never returned. The little girl cannot talk; we're planning to take her to a doctor to try and understand what her problem is. She has a little brother, Vijay Babu (5). The Lord's leading us to help this family when they are in need.
ABOVE: This is Mariya Das. He's the grandfather of 2 girls who are part of the HOPE girls home when school is open. Obviously, he's very needy. He's now part of the RHM widows & elderly ministry.
ABOVE: Another family we're involved with. The mother is Suvarthamma, her 2 children being the little boy in her arm (Vijay Kumar) and the little girl on the left, Deborah. The other girl is her brother's daughter. Suvarthamma's husband left her and now has another woman. Suvarthamma's mother is part of the widows & elderly ministry. Though she looks pretty serious in this photo, we've been blessed to see how the Lord has been changing her countenance and giving her hope over the last few months.

ABOVE: Brother Prasanth, myself and some youth are normally going to this little church once a week. The 2 little girls in the front are Joy (with the glasses) and Bhavya Sri, both assisted by RHM. Joy is a severe diabetic at 12 years old, sometimes in and out of the hospital. The total costs of her meds are more than $150 a month, not counting extra expenses during the periodic hospital visits. Her father is the pastor of this church. Bhavya Sri on the right is an orphan, both parents dying with AIDS.
ABOVE: Moses and his wife Samadhanamma, along with their daughter Ruth. They've taken care of Ruth since she was a little girl because her parents have many children and weren't able to care for all the children properly. Ruth has never gone to school. We recently added Samadhanamma to our widows & elderly list, her medicines about $65 a month for paralysis, high blood pressure and diabetes. Moses is also in bad health, but sometimes goes for work.
ABOVE: After a few months of not being able to have literacy classes because of Corona issues, in July the classes began again. But only a short time later, Brother Raju (fulltime worker with the elderly) became sick. That lasted for almost 2 weeks. After being healed only for a couple of days, Raju ended up in lockdown because he helped his dying grandfather. After he died, he was tested positive with Corona. Since Raju and some others were "primary contacts", they had to stay in quarantine for 14 days and have Corona tests. Praise GOD, the tests came up negative, and the quarantine time was completed yesterday. All those on the right of the photo are from a nearby tribal village, none of the children going to school consistently.
ABOVE: It's been a time of inconsistent ministry toward the widows & elderly over the last 6 months because of villages being locked down, and people not willing to gather. But slowly, more and more of them are gathering again. This is a group who gathered just a couple of weeks ago in Subba Reddy Colony, where there's about 18 elderly on the list.
ABOVE: The sister who lost her husband in a motorcycle accident in late January, although still having brokenness in her heart, has truly been blessed in different ways. With some insurance money, and a smaller amount of funds from our widows & elderly program, she recently was able to complete this new house for her and her 2 girls (2 rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom).
ABOVE: As you know from last month's update, the girl on the left is Kumari, recently married to Yesubabu. Through your donations, they were able to have a great wedding in the boy's village. This is the reception in Kumari's village. The pastor on the right is Brother Samuel.
ABOVE: About half of the donations you gave were used for the wedding & reception expenses. The other half was used to build Yesubabu & Kumari a new room, which is adjoined to the boy's parents house. The room is on the right of this photo, and their porch area was also extended. The porch has become a great place to conduct small "prayer meetings", a general term used to include church services, Bible studies, women's meetings, etc. This is a "Thanksgiving Prayer", giving thanks to our Lord for providing this new room.
ABOVE: This is Kumari, leading songs in her village's first Sunday School meeting. Brother Bhaskara Rao (sitting on the left playing the drum) also attended. This brother's ministry is to children, RHM assisting him as he does the children's ministry in various places at least 8 times a month.
ABOVE: We had shared with you about a couple (here in this photo) who were in an auto rickshaw accident recently. The auto went off the road, overturning and tumbling down the bank onto the field below. We were told that the driver lost both of his legs in this accident, and both these parents had to go to the hospital with injuries. But this mother, even as the auto was rolling and crashed onto the field, never let go of their little girl (here in her Daddy's arms). The child didn't even have a scratch on her! They have 4 children, the mother pregnant with a 5th child. This accident only took place about one month ago, and her baby in the womb is also okay. Praise the Lord!
ABOVE: The couple in the above photo wanted to have a "Thanksgiving Prayer/Birthday Function", giving thanks for the Lord's protection over their lives, and to celebrate the little girl Rupthi's 2nd birthday. Difficult to do in their little tribal village, so we had this celebration/prayer in one of Brother Prasanth's churches, which is less than 1/4 mile from their village. Pray for the Daddy, who's struggling to completely overcome drinking.
ABOVE: The older girls on the right are Amrutha & Rani. In previous months we were having small prayer meetings on their verandah (porch) every Saturday morning. Some of the neighbors & children were also attending. The enemy was successful in shutting this down for now. Pray that the Lord will help us to resume it once again in the near future.
ABOVE: This a children's meeting taking place in a fishing village very near to the beach of the Bay of Bengal (southeast coast of India). Amrutha, Rani and some of Brother Prasanth's youth group have been doing very nice ministry with the children in at least 3 different villages on a regular basis.
ABOVE: These are girls in a girls home in another part of India which we've been assisting for several years. Priyanka (4th from the left) is the birthday girl in this photo.
