Leaving Precious India
September 30, 2020 Update

Dear RHM Friends,

Greetings in the Name of our Precious Lord JESUS.

After living here for the most part of the last 9 years, my present visa permission has been terminated, so I'll be returning to India in October. A long story, but suffice to say that the enemy has been hard at work for years to bring this about, but surely the Lord has a plan. As Joseph's brothers were used of the enemy to bring harm to Joseph (about 13 years as a slave or in prison as a result of their hate & jealousy), finally Joseph came to the understanding that our Father had a deeper purpose that neither he nor his brothers could grasp at the time. "Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but GOD...As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive." (Genesis 45:8; 50:20). Though I can't see it now, surely the Lord will use all of this to bring about His purposes. Hallelujah!

We thank the Lord for giving us favor with a sponsor in America, enabling us to start a "tailoring project" for 13 young women & girls. Seven of them were abandoned by their husbands for various reasons, but all of them are in need. Some of them had jobs earning a little income, but when Covid lockdowns began (and fear), they lost their jobs. On top of that, their children are now at home, as the schools still have not started. Some of them have no one to keep their children as they go for work. So all of them are interested in learning the tailoring skills to earn some income for their families. By His grace, we've been able to find the instructors, transportation, machines, everything that's needed, and hope to start in the near future. Pray for that.

Things are slowly returning to "normal" here in this area of India, but still we have a long ways to go. Schools haven't yet started; many businesses are still shut down; shop hours are limited in how long they're allowed to stay open, etc. At this current time, several people whom we are personally involved with have Corona, so we're a little more cautious these days, and trusting Him to keep us safe. In the midst of such economic struggles, surely there are many more believers in very deep poverty. Pray the Lord will lead us to those whom He would have us to help. And pray He will grant us more donors, so that more can be blessed in His love.

For those of you who are HOPE donors, remember to go to the new HOPE website and new HOPE postal mailing address to make your donations. For those who still have your monthly recurring donations for HOPE via RHM, let me know when you want to move your donation to the HOPE site. I will delete (cancel) your current donation with RHM, and then you can set up a new donation with HOPE. Here's a couple of contacts if you have any questions:

Thank you always for your love, prayers and support! Bless you.

Brother Dan

"So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."  Galatians 6:10

Above: Brother Raju with  a few of the people we're involved with. The 2 older women are Raja Kumari & Subba Lakshmi, women in our widows & elderly program. Both are widows. The older girl in the middle is Bhargavi, the daughter of Raja Kumari (pink), and the little girl is Bhavya Sri. Both her parents died of AIDS. Very thankful to be part of their lives!
ABOVE: Mangamma from Subba Reddy Colony in front of her new hut we built this year. Pray for her, as she has bad health. She had a kidney stone operation earlier this year, and may need another soon. She's married, but her daughter-in-law died a year or 2 ago, leaving her son and 2 grandsons in a very needy position.
ABOVE: This is Bulammayi from Chinthayapalem, also a widow in the widows' ministry. Most of the widows are sponsored by World Challenge, which funnels its support through RHM. The poor elderly who are married, have never been married, or who were abandoned, are sponsored by RHM. We praise GOD for the partnership with WC, as they supply the much larger portion of this ministry to the elderly, including most of the house repairs or new huts, and most of the medical needs. The above hut also was built this year with WC funds.

ABOVE: This is Samrajyamma from Hanamantha Rao. Her husband has died. This hut is not completely new, but some of the walls and all of the roof was added this year.
ABOVE: This is Chilakamma from Hanamantha Rao. Her husband abandoned her. This hut is similar to the previous woman, the roof and some walls added this year.
ABOVE: This may be a little shocking to some, but here in India it is not at all unusual. The loved ones of the deceased don't hold back their brokenness. The woman who passed is Mariyamma from Alluru, such a sweet saint of GOD. She was a very prayerful woman. She had severe diabetes, and the affects of that took her life a couple of weeks ago. These are her 3 daughters, shortly before the wooden casket was about to be taken to the cemetery.
ABOVE: These are not bandits, but pastors in a somewhat more volatile area of India whom we've had a part in supporting for years. Please pray about helping them if the Lord leads you. There's actually 10 pastors who are working together in ministry, but 2 of them could not attend on this day. If you want to help them, please designate your gift toward them.
ABOVE: Divya, perhaps only 17 or 18 years old, is the mother of this 3 year girl, Annamani. The child has "fits" (seizures), which doctors haven't been able to control. It seems the seizures have caused some mental problems also with the girl. Divya's young husband left her because he didn't want to deal with the child. But she's very active, and very loved by Divya. We praise GOD that a new Tailoring Project has been approved by World Challenge, providing training for girls and young women (8 of them single mothers) to learning tailoring and earn some income. We'll share more about that later. Divya is one of the girls/women who are part of this tailoring project.
ABOVE: Brother Samuel in the village of Valetivaripalem, where we have more than 20 women (most widows) from 3 different villages who are part of the widows & elderly program. As you can see, because of Covid it's difficult to get all the people to gather in these months.
ABOVE: Rani (Telugu for "queen") is leading children's ministry in the village of Madala Narayana. In some of the meetings we're mixing the adults & children together in one group. We did that this time because already it was getting late; the children were ready to start, but very few adults had come. But it ended up being a great meeting, about half adults and half children.
ABOVE: Brother Prasanth sharing with the same village people from GOD's Word.
ABOVE: A nice gathering in another village church. This was actually after the meeting, while they were distributing some snacks to the people who attended.
ABOVE: We thank GOD for hungry people, not hungry for food, but hungry for His Words and for His Presence. Some places where we visit, "it's like pulling teeth" to get them to attend. In other places, like this one, even though the people had little notice that we were coming, yet they finished their home duties and came with an eager heart to sing and learn.
ABOVE: Sindhu (right) and Rani sharing with the children and a few adults in a fishing village very near to the beach. Pray for the Lord's will in regard to this village. So far, there is little desire among the adults, but for the sake of these few children, a few of us would like to continue going there. No other believers (that we know of) are going there to share with them.
ABOVE: Rani leading Sunday School with her own village children on her front porch (verandah). The small children really like Rani; pray that they will continue coming as they get older also. Very few Christians are in this village.
"Whatever you do, do all things to the glory of GOD." 1 Corinthians 10:31
