Children We Are Helping
February 10, 2021 Update

Dear RHM Friends,

Greetings in the Name of our Precious Lord JESUS.

This update is focusing mostly on the children whom RHM is involved with. I never dreamed that we would be helping children in these kind of home situations, but He sometimes leads us into unexpected pathways. Of the 23 children whom we currently have some level of commitment, only 6 of them have fathers in the home. For 3 of those 6 children, the father is unable to work. 12 of the children were abandoned by one or both parents. 9 of them had one or both parents die. One girl's mentally impaired mother disappeared a couple of months ago, no one knowing where she is. 20 of these 23 children are in photos below, along with a brief profile of their background. Please keep them in your prayers. "For in You the fatherless finds mercy." Hosea 14:3

There are 3 needs I request you to pray about at this time:
1. Raja Kumari, one of the widows in our widows & elderly ministry, needs healing. She was healed of cancer a couple of years ago (after chemo & radiation), but several months ago started getting water in her lungs. I think we've taken her to 3 different doctors, but none of them have found the root of the problem, their tests always showing negative in regard to cancer. She is in much pain, and feels too weak to even go to another doctor (she's only about 51 years old). The last doctor is now thinking that the cancer has returned, but has no proof. Just yesterday, she went and had major scanning done to see if there is any cancer; waiting for the results. Please pray for her, as she has suffered so much, and is mostly on the bed.
2. Joy (13), the child in the 2nd photo below. Type 1 diabetes began manifesting in her body when she was 11, and for the last several months has been in and out of the hospital. We're planning to take her to a children's diabetic hospital in a major city soon. Her sugar levels are often above 500, but many times below 50 or 60 as well. She is far too thin, and also has a problem with much vomiting at times. The child is very bright, and has a tender heart for the Lord, but is worn out. Pray for Joy.
3. Our heavenly Father has been so faithful to touch hearts in behalf of the poor, but there are spiritual forces working through govt or bank officials, or nominal believers, trying to hinder the funds from reaching those who are in need. Trusting in Him. Pray about this.

In our updates & newsletters, we are informing you about what HE is doing through this ministry. As we share about "we are doing" this and that, please always understand: we are not boasting or blowing the trumpet to announce the "good works" which the Lord is doing through us. I understand clearly that "apart from Me you can do nothing" and "in my flesh there dwells no good thing" (John 15:5; Romans 7:18). We don't need recognition for anything being done in this ministry, but understand the reality that, without information, how will anyone know what's happening through this ministry in India? We also understand that all of us are only PART of a large team of people within the Body of Christ who are contributing to what takes place via RHM: donors, prayer partners, those in administration, those in the field. To Him be all the glory!

In the photos below, when we mention the "commitments" we have toward the families and children in need, always insert a "Lord willing" into the sentence. We cannot predict the future, but have the hope that, until His return, as long as He has us here on the earth, He will preserve the ability for us to provide for the poor and needy in JESUS' Name.

Thank you always for your love, prayers and support! Scroll down to see some of what the Lord is doing through your giving & prayers. Bless you.

Brother Dan

"So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."  Galatians 6:10

ABOVE:  The husband & wife on the right had 2 sons. One son (20), married to the girl on the left (maybe 15), died a few weeks ago from an electrical accident. The girl is left with the 1 little boy, and is now 7 months pregnant. They are unbelievers, but now attending some meetings with believers after this occurred. As we reach out to them with food and Christ's love, pray that their heart will be opened to receive Him into their lives.
ABOVE: Joy (13) has type 1 diabetes, and has been in and out of the hospital many times over the last several months. Pray for His healing touch and encouragement for this family, her father a pastor. She's very bright, here doing her homework. We have paid about $175 a month for Joy's insulin & other diabetic bills over the last 10 months.
ABOVE: The 2 little ones on the left are Yesu Meri (7) and Sukanya (5). The mother died shortly after Sukanya was born, and then the Dad left the children completely. Hard to imagine. Here they are with their mother's mother, their grandmother. A great grandmother and young uncle are also with them in this make-shift home. Helping the girls with education, food and whatever else is needed.

ABOVE: Little Bhavya, now 8, with her grandmother, Subba Lakshmi, who is part of our widows & elderly ministry. Both of Bhavya's parents died of AIDS when she was very small. She now lives with this grandmother. The Lord has us helping her with education, food, and anything else needed.
ABOVE: The child in the middle we don't know, but the other girl on the right and the little boy, we are committed to help on a regular basis. The boy is Vijay Babu (5) and the girl Prem Kumari (7). After much quarreling, the Dad left the family when the boy was a baby. The mother then killed herself. These 2 little ones are living with their grandparents (grandmother standing), great grandparents and an Aunt. Only the grandfather is able to work, but it also is not a high paying job. Giving food to all 7 members in the family once a month, plus committed to helping the children with whatever they need.
ABOVE: The girl on the left is Akshaya (11). Her real father was a deceiver, marrying her mother only until he could get her money and property, then left. The mother later remarried, but the stepfather is not willing to care for Akshaya. So she stays with her grandmother. We are helping her with education and some monthly food for her and her grandparents (the grandfather an alcoholic and not caring for the family properly).
ABOVE: We have shared about this family many times. The children's Dad died in a motorcycle accident in January 2020, leaving the family in much debt. The debts are now paid, and they are doing much better, although still grieving at times over the Dad/husband's death. Helping the girls (Pinky, 12, and Preethi, 14) with education, food, whatever they need.
ABOVE: The girl on the left is Nageena, her mother on the right. The mother has HIV, which caused her to get kicked out of the home by her Muslim husband. She and the girl then stayed with her parents (also Muslim). When she began going to the church next door to their house, her parents kicked her out of their home also. They later let her move back in, but it's a volatile environment for her and Nageena. Pray the Lord will lead us how to help them in this difficult situation. Helping with monthly food, and planning to help more with Nageena's education and other needs as the Lord leads.
ABOVE: The girl on the left is Esther Rani (14). Her parents are to the right, all 3 of them coming to Christ within the last year or so. The girl next to Esther Rani is her brother's wife, a Christian who was instrumental in bringing these family members to Christ. Helping Esther Rani with whatever education needs she might have, and the entire family with monthly food.
ABOVE: Please pray for Annamani, this 3 year old girl. From birth she has had major seizures, which seems to have caused brain damage. Annamani is very difficult to control, but this mother, Divya (maybe 18), has much love for her. The young Dad left the family because he didn't want to deal with the child or her medical expenses. The child is getting free meds from the govt, but only for another few months. Then we hope to pick up her medical needs. Much wisdom is needed for  this child's life.
ABOVE: The girl is Shiny (15), her serious-looking brother Kethan (13), both in their school clothes. Helping them with school fees. Their father had a nervous breakdown about 13 years ago, not able to work and hold down a job. The mother, a teacher, struggles to care for the family, a very sickly grandmother also living with them.
ABOVE: This is a photo of Deborah (4) on her birthday, but she is not very happy that Vijay Kumar (1 in December) has invaded the kitchen! Their Dad abandoned the home in early 2020 for another woman. They and their mother are now staying with the grandmother, Chandramma, who is a widow in our widows & elderly program. The mother's part of our tailoring project through April, then will try to earn some income with her newly acquired skills. Helping the children with food and anything else needed.
ABOVE: Brother Hanock (left) is one of the brothers in India whom we are doing ministry with. Here he is with Bharathi and her son, Arun Kumar (11). Bharathi's husband died of AIDS when Arun was a baby, leaving Bharathi also with HIV. Thankfully she is doing okay, but still too weak to work steadily. Helping them with monthly food, but also committed to helping Arun with his education or any other needs he might have.
ABOVE: The 2 boys are Simha (just turned 14) and Gani (11), with their mother on Simha's birthday just 3 days ago. The mother, having many health problems at a young age, struggles to care for the boys, so has placed them in a hostel about 30 miles from her hut. The hostel is run by believers, and the boys seem to be well cared for. They don't have any major needs while in the hostel, as the administrators there give them everything needed. But when they go to the mother's house during holidays, there will be needs, and we want to be ready to help them with whatever other needs they may have in the future.
ABOVE: The girl in the middle is Blessy (18), with her Aunty and grandmother (part of the widows & elderly ministry). Blessy's father died from alcoholism & jaundice when she was a baby, her mother dying of cancer & jaundice when Blessy was about 9 years old. Helping Blessy with all her college expenses, and her family with monthly food.
ABOVE: Brother Bhaskara Rao leading the "Sunday School" meeting (though not on Sunday) with children in the village of Nandayapalem, which is one of 5 villages where he is doing ministry each month. He's a full time children's minister, and we help him financially with these 5 villages (a total of 8 meetings each month).
ABOVE: A couple of big prayer needs represented in this photo in a poor tribal village: 1. The girl on the left is Deena. She and her young husband were in a vehicle accident recently, Deena's shoulder being fractured. When doing a video call with them recently, she was in so much pain. Please pray for Deena. 2. Rangamma, the woman on the right (and Deena's mother), has another daughter who is an alcoholic. Because of the alcohol, her life has twisted out of control, and she is not at all caring for her 5 children properly (2 of them in this photo). Now Rangamma (the children's grandmother) is mostly caring for them. It's a long story, and a mess, but we're helping the children and Rangamma with whatever food and other needs they have.
